Yorkshire’s Sensory Stars will recognise and celebrate the successes and achievements of children with hearing and or sight loss across West Yorkshire, as well as their siblings and the volunteers who work with them. The hosts of Yorkshire’s Sensory Stars, coHearentVision, provide support for families living with sensory impairment, and raise funds to ensure they can continue providing their vital youth services across the region.
The children and young people nominated for these awards are truly inspirational. Their stories really demonstrate that anything can be achieved. Not only do they face the usual daily challenges of children in our society today, but they also have the additional challenge of living in a world without sight or sound, or both. These children learn to interpret their environment without the luxury of experiencing the intonation of a voice, or being able to see and feel another person’s body language. Many of the children shortlisted also have other disabilities.
Yorkshire’s Sensory Stars Awards will celebrate the amazing achievements of these children, while also acknowledging the fantastic support they receive. We can guarantee that you will be amazed, feel humble, and incredibly inspired.
The award ceremony will take place at the Marriott Hotel, 4 Trevelyan Square, Boar Laneth July 2011. This promises to be a fabulous night, helping to raise funds for a great cause and celebrating these fabulous children. The event will consist of:
- Red carpet arrival.
- Drinks reception.
- Three course star-themed meal, followed by coffee.
- Complimentary house wine, beer and soft drinks on each table.
- Professional photographer
- Live entertainment and awards ceremony.
- Disco.
Tickets cost £50 per person, or £450 for a table of ten.
