The Barton Mayo button allows a hands free tracheostoma valve to be in position without the need for adhesives.

Simple to insert, the tubular portion fits inside the stoma margin. The inner lip gently grips the tracheal wall and provides integral sealing as pressure increases during exhalation.

After inserting the Barton Mayo button, a tracheostoma valve easily snaps into the outer fenestration housing. For some patients with a voice prosthesis, fenestration may be required to be cut into the button.

The flexibility of the Barton Mayo button allows it to be easily collapsed for insertion and removal.

an image of a pressure monitor

Handheld Cuff Pressure Monitor

This device helps the clinicians to prevent damage to tracheal mucosa by monitoring cuff pressures on tracheostomy tubes. It is very important to have the safe sealing pressures in cuffs so as not to (a) cause pressure problems on the Tracheal Mucosa and (b) to ensure a safe seal to help prevent aspiration during swallow.

The face of the gauge is clearly marked in green with a 'safe' pressure zone of 16 - 24cms H20 and an area indicated in red where pressure in cuffs would be deemed to be higher than recommended. To be used in conjunction with tube manufacturers inflatable cuff guidelines.
