|TRVSV0001||Voiceline® Tracheostomy Speaking Valve||2|
The valve works in the following way – on inspiration, air opens the valve and enters the trachea – on expiration the valve is closed and air is diverted into the upper airway via the vocal cords (assuming they are mobile) allowing voicing to take place.
The Voiceline Speaking Valve is an economical low cost device – it is designed for short term use. When fitted, used and cleaned in accordance with the instructions (provided), the valve will give 10-14 days satisfactory service before replacement is necessary. Single patient use.
Caution: Not for use by laryngectomised patients.
Please Note – For longer term Speaking Valve use and for
patients on ventilators who require speaking valves, we
recommend the Passy-Muir range of Speaking Valve
